For the first time the event is organised jointly with ACASPA, the Australian Canvas and Synthetic Products Association, who will hold their Convention from the 26th to 30th May at the same location.

MSAA 1984 Theme of Conference

For several years PVC coated synthetic materials have provided the bulk of coated fabric material used in the construction of membrane structures.
Nevertheless, basic properties of materials and methods influencing them are often little understood by designers and converters alike.
A panel of speakers, each one coming from a practical background, will highlight important aspects of material selection such as mechanical properties and testing methods, coatings and coating methods and weathering aspects.

MSAA 1983 Theme of Conference

The impact of membrane structures on the construction of Sports and Recreation Facilities Overseas has been considerable.

In view of Government policies encouraging future growth of these facilities the timing was deemed to be appropriate to dedicate the proceedings of this Convention to this particular field of application.

The speakers, each being an outstanding expert in his field, are representative of various levels of Sports and Recreation Facility Planning: policy implementation, planning, design and construction of major facilities, major sporting users and membrane structures design and research.
